Ranking Every Live-Action Superman Suit From Worst To Best
6. Man Of Steel Suit
The Man of Steel suit is the most ambitious design change from the classic look made for the modern age of film. The mission statement seems to be to make the suit look convincingly alien, to make it “less ridiculous,” and still retain enough elements to be recognizably Superman. In that respect, it is mission accomplished.
Thanks to its well-proportioned muscle suit that looks believably Henry Cavill’s body, and the Romanesque way the red cape looks and flows, this Clark Kent has the best silhouette among all live-action Superman.
The material used and the unconventional patterns on some parts give it credibility that this is alien from a land with a different culture from Earth.
The big negative is the drab color of the blue section and the aged-dirty look of the chest emblem.
Doesn't his suit need to reflect his symbol with brighter colors in contrast to the dark world surrounding him? This Superman tries to be approachable and trustworthy to the army, but it looks in contrast to his dark and intimidating clothes. He says the S on his chest stands for hope, but there is a dissonance when the colors of the S look like it has dirt stains.
Despite all its good qualities, the dark colors keep this from being among the best.
