The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the largest movie franchise of all time, spanning 23 movies and two TV shows. Over the course of thirteen years, Marvel have brought some of their most iconic comic characters to the silver screen such as Captain America and Iron Man, as well as some lesser known heroes that have become fan favourites.

The MCU's roster of heroes is huge and full of strength, skill and power from Masters of the Mystic Arts to super-spies and all the way to foul-mouthed raccoons. Over a decade of movies has meant each characters' powers and abilities have been shown and explored for the whole fanbase to enjoy and analyse.

There have been some truly incredible feats of power and skill throughout the movies and TV shows, in fighting enemies, gods and even each other. Audiences have been treated to some awe-inspiring feats throughout the years but one large question still lingers: 'Who is truly the strongest?'

In this list, each hero is placed from weakest to strongest, according to their power, special abilities, fighting skill and intelligence. They are all taken from their current position in the MCU as of 2021.

Let's get started...

29. Mantis

Mantis is the clueless yet wholesome member of the Guardians of the Galaxy team. She was a servant of Ego the Living Planet, Star-Lord's father, when she was first introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Her powers come through empathy. She is able to sense and control other people's emotions as well as alter moods and put enemies in a sleep/coma like state. Mantis was even able to subdue Thanos for a short time and put Ego, a Celestial, to sleep.

However, Mantis is at the bottom of this list. Despite being able to subdue virtually any opponent, it can only happen when she is touching them. Mantis has no hand-to-hand combat skills (which is ironic, given her comics counterpart is one of the galaxy's foremost martial artists), and was only able to subdue Thanos after Doctor Strange gave her an opening and all the other heroes were holding him down.

If you have clicked on here, get ready to be bored. I'm just a 20 year old white male who has a (probably) unhealthy obsession with pop culture Film and TV. Handy in a trivia game but not much else. My parents were never murdered, I'm not avenging my dead wife. Just plain, old sat at a computer with a head full of knowledge I mostly don't use I was born and raised in the Black Country near Birmingham, England however am now living in Manchester, England after I moved here two years ago. I currently attend the University of Salford, studying Broadcast Journalism. That's it really. Told you there was nothing special. If you're really that desperate for something to do, follow me on socials. Yes, I do like that ego boost.
