Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best
21. Valley Girl (1983)
Nicolas Cage's first-ever starring role is a low-key banger, casting him as the Romeo - that is, Randy - in this contemporary update of Romeo and Juliet.
Randy is the punk who falls in love with titular Valley girl Juliet (Deborah Foreman), and while it's an inherently well-worn story, the charming performances of Cage and Foreman elevate this significantly.
Cage is note-perfect in the role of the goofball punk, complimented by a heartfelt story with some absolutely killer musical selections. It was also recently given the remake treatment, to mixed reviews.
20. National Treasure (2004)
National Treasure is one of the most deliriously enjoyable adventure flicks of the last 20 years, a shamelessly earnest family-friendly romp empowered by its top-notch cast, sharp direction, and a plot that knowingly ties itself up in knots.
It doesn't try to be serious, it revels in its own silliness, and nails that throwback tone that so many similar movies have tried and failed to. Not quite top-tier Hollywood blockbuster Cage, but not far off either.
