Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best
1. Adaptation (2002)
What else could possibly be #1 than the movie that gave everyone two Nicolas Cage performances for the price of one?
Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman's meta-dramedy Adaptation is the snake swallowing its own tail in cinematic form, a challenging, literate, and insanely smart film which casts Cage as twin brothers Charlie and Donald Kaufman.
Cage, who received an Oscar nomination for his impeccable work, is beyond the pale here in the best way possible, while performances from Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper - the latter winning a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his work - are similarly fantastic.
It's not the most relaxing or chilled-out Cage movie, but it does feel the most completely complimentary to Cage's one-of-a-kind acting style.
