Ranking EVERY Resident Evil Movie From Worst To Best
3. Resident Evil: Vendetta
Whilst Resident Evil 7 Biohazard was grounding the series back firmly in survival horror, Vendetta looked to do the same for series mainstays, Leon S Kennedy and Chris Redfield - plus a surprise return from Rebecca Chambers, who hasn't been seen since the Spencer Mansion incident.
The main focus here seems to be that of tying up character arcs from the 6th game with a few role reversals as now Leon is the one seeking answers at the bottom of the bottle whilst Chris has a clear head. We have a new virus, a new city under threat and this time it's New York. A rare venture into the real world for the series.
As with the Resident Evil CGI films, the action is ridiculous, but coherent. So when Leon and Chris are essentially rolling over each over while blowing off zombies' heads, you can at least follow along while laughing. Whoever thought of Leon on a motorbike vs, a Tyrant while on a skyscraper for a final battle is a mad person and needs to head up the next batch of live action films. At times there is even real tension here.
If you have dismissed the Resident Evil CGI films up until this point, watch Vendetta. It is the best example of true RE madness put towards the big screen - or a streaming service at 2am, because there isn't anything else to watch.
