Ranking Every Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Film Worst To Best

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret Of The Ooze

Following the success of the first Ninja Turtles film, a sequel was quickly greenlit and came out only twelve months later. While the first film featured fight scenes with the Turtles' usual weapons, kids smoking, and apparently killing the main villain, the sequel was significantly watered down from all of that.

Responding to an outcry from some parents, the violence was toned down. Instead of using weapons, the Turtles fight with things like pepperoni, pool noodles, and yoyos. Instead of showing kids PG violence with weapons, they were now learning how to weaponize household items.

The highlight of the film comes from Jim Henson's Creature Shop and his impressive animatronics and designs. The Turtles all look amazing for the era and the new villains Tokka and Rahzar are memorable and look menacing.

The most legendary scene comes when the Turtles break through a wall where Vanilla Ice happens to be performing. Of course, he is able to come up with an entire rap and choreographed dance on the spot about the Turtles. It's completely ridiculous, but has a certain charm to it.

For a film titled Secret of the Ooze, it's surprising that there really isn't anything close to a secret. The ooze that mutates them came from a scientific lab, and that's as close as it gets to any kind of mystery.
