Ranking Every Terminator Model By Deadliest

7. T-850

Instead of creating an entirely new model of Terminator, Skynet instead opted to upgrade the already successful T-800. The T-850 is a variant version of the original model with upgraded systems and capabilities that make it a far more efficient infiltrator and hunter-killer.

The outer layer of skin is more easily removed, which makes repairs to internal systems easier and more permanent. This enhancement makes it possible to access the CPU without slicing through the skin. Another upgrade to the skin made it possible to partially heal, which eliminated the presence of necrotizing flesh once damaged.

The upgrades made to the endoskeleton offer some protection from plasma weaponry. A hit might damage and take it offline momentarily, whereas such a blast would destroy a T-800. Additional upgrades were made to the model's power unit, which consisted of two hydrogen fuel cells — this added redundancy in power generation that wasn't present in earlier models.

The T-850 could last longer in the field than other units, as its ability to self-repair and temporarily shut down its systems kept it going after receiving damage that would have destroyed a T-800. Additionally, the upgraded models are stronger and faster than their predecessors.
