Ranking February 2015's Movies From Least Exciting To Most
9. Pride And Prejudice And Zombies
The recent past might not have been particularly kind on pulp fiction/history clash movies (see Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), but P&P&Z is the definitive genre offering. It was arguably the project that kicked off the general fascination with redoing literary classics, and as such it deserves to be considered on a slightly higher plane. It happens to help the film that the cast is very good, with a host of top British talent and Charles Dance there to chew the scenery wonderfully and steal every scene. But its still hard to push this one higher up the list because of the precedent set by its horrid genre-mates. At least any success will comes as a nice surprise to the cynics. Release: Feb 5
