Ranking February 2017's Movies From Worst To Best
7. Prevenge
RottenTomatoes Score: 94% (7.5/10)
Box Office: Budgetary information isn't available (director Alice Lowe has described it as "very low"), but it's pulled in $65,896 at the specialty box office so far.
Verdict: This thriller about a murderous pregnant woman was written, directed by and starred Alice Lowe all while she was actually pregnant, and expertly melds black comedy with biting social commentary to make this a sure cult classic in the making.
Considering what a seat-of-the-pants production this was, being filmed in two weeks near the end of Lowe's pregnancy, it's amazing the end result feels so gathered and coherent. An impressive debut above all else.
