RottenTomatoes Score: 91% (7.5/10)

Box Office: Though the animated superhero film opened slightly below lofty expectations, it's still easily doubled its $80 million budget already, and is likely to have considerable legs moving forward.

Verdict: While not quite matching the heights of The Lego Movie, this Bat-centric spin-off is a mostly howling mockery of the absurdity of comic book movies, while offering up a loving, warm-hearted tribute to the history of the Caped Crusader at the same time.

Teeming with wit and beautifully animated, it delivers pretty much exactly what you'd expect, and convinces that there are worse prospects than a Lego Movieverse.
