Ranking February 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

18. Rings

Rings Vincent D Onofrio
Paramount

RottenTomatoes Score: 7% (3.2/10 average score)

Box Office: Though hardly the storming success Paramount were surely banking on, Rings has almost tripled its $25 million budget to date. Enough for a sequel, probably.

Verdict: As cynically lazy as you'd expect a reboot of a long-stagnant horror franchise to be, Rings posits one or two interesting spins on the series' formula, but mostly settles for lame jump scares, overt exposition and an unhealthy dollop of unintentional comedy.

At least Vincent D'Onofrio was his hammy best, which just barely saved it from being a total, one-star misfire. Largely as rancid as you probably anticipated, though.
