Ranking February 2018's Movies From Worst To Best
15. Winchester
RottenTomatoes Score: 14% (3.9/10)
Box Office: Impressively budgeted at a mere $3.5 million, Winchester managed to defy atrocious reviews - as the horror genre so frequently does - to pull in more than $25 million worldwide.
A minor hit for Lionsgate for sure, but a fantastic result when considering the cost-to-profit ratio and how well this thing will probably do on home video.
Verdict: Though touting an eerie premise, some sharp visuals and a great cast, Winchester squanders all that with a vitality-drainingly boring plot, chock full of lame jump scares and excessive exposition.
And sad as it is to say, Helen Mirren's American accent in this film is...not great. It's a rare bad performance from the actress, but at least it came and went in a flash so few will notice or remember.
