Ranking January 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

18. Taken 3

RottenTomatoes Score: 10% (3.4 out of 10) Box Office: Unsurprisingly, the franchise continues to be critic-proof, with the movie currently grossing $210 million, a massive success on its $48 million budget, and it's certainly not done yet. Few were expecting much from the second needless sequel to the surprisingly entertaining 2008 actioner, but with a gritty Los Angeles setting and Forest Whitaker playing an eccentric cop, it could easily have outdone the previous film. Sadly, epileptic editing, unintentionally hilarious drama, a neutered approach to action and a plot that relies far too much on yogurt drinks and warm bagels (seriously) all conspire to ensure this is even lazier and more infuriating than most expected. Neeson mostly seems tired and bored in one of recent cinema's most blatant paycheque roles. Neeson says it's the last one, and while that's hopefully the case, the box office gross surely has Fox trying to coax the star back for T4ken.
