Ranking January 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

18. The Open House

The Open House
Netflix

RottenTomatoes Score: 17% (3.3/10 average score)

Box Office: The Open House was released straight to Netflix, so there's nothing to see here.

Verdict: The worst major release of January was, unsurprisingly enough, a horror movie, but you didn't even need to move from the comfort of your bed to watch it.

Despite starring the talented Dylan Minette (Don't Breathe), The Open House is an almost totally flat, airless attempt at a horror film, failing to make compellingly creepy use of its remote central locale.

There are frequent unintentional chuckles, long, meandering scenes that go nowhere, and an infuriatingly bad ending to top it all off. There are an increasing number of horror gems in Netflix's Originals line-up, but this sure ain't one of them.
