Verdict: This vulgar adaptation of Victor Santos' web-comic has a committed Mads Mikkelsen performance going for it, but working with a sloppy script and Jonas Åkerlund's obnoxious direction, Polar is ultimately an irritating missed opportunity.

There are occasional moments where it hits the right note of inspired insanity, but more often than not this cartoonish thriller is just loud, violent and gratuitous for its own sake without actually bringing anything interesting to the table.

And sadly, even the basic thrill of some gory action is stymied by the choppy editing. Another Netflix Original dud.
