Rotten Tomatoes Score: 56% (6.0/10) Box Office: With marketing playing up that it came from the same producing team as last year's smash hit The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns fell significantly below expectations on its opening weekend, but has nevertheless already grossed more than double its $12.5 million budget, and will likely multiply that several times more once its run at the box office is done. It's not a hit on the level of the aforementioned movie (which made $307.2 million worldwide), but it'll still make Fox a small bag of cash nevertheless. The Verdict: Though it doesn't quite exploit its compelling "Gone Girl for tweens" premise as well as it could have, there's enough emotional honesty and intriguing drama here to make Paper Towns a young adult novel that avoids many of the trite cliches associated with the genre. The real reason to see the movie is the electric chemistry between Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne, and while the latter naturally doesn't get much screen time, she's an alluring screen presence who, with prime roles in Pan and Suicide Squad on the horizon, is clearly right on the cusp of stardom. It won't change your life, but it doesn't condescend to its teenage audience, and even adults won't find it insufferable.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
