Ranking July 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

11. Self/less

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 21% (4.5/10) Box Office: Despite the insanely economical $26 million budget (considering the expensive lead actor, sci-fi premise and slick visual style), Self/less will struggle to recoup more than half that budget after having been on release for three weeks, making it yet another certifiable box office bomb for Ryan Reynolds. The Verdict: Though director Tarsem Singh serves up the tasty visuals as expected and there are a bunch of solid performances here, Self/less squanders its massive potential with a surprisingly dull and punishingly overlong sci-fi farce. The set-up is entertaining enough, but the rest of the film simply doesn't go anywhere interesting with it, stranding Reynolds in a tedious breadcrumb-following narrative that steals from countless better films from the genre as it goes along. A Netflix viewing on a boring Sunday afternoon at best, sadly.
