Box Office: Though the controversial reboot opened amid expectations with a solid $46 million domestic opening weekend, the film has somewhat fallen off a cliff since, taking more than two weeks to make its over-sized $144 million budget back.

Plus, without that lucrative Chinese market to bail them out as aided recent films like Terminator Genisys and Warcraft, Ghostbusters could struggle to crack even $300 million, pretty much killing any prospect of another movie.

Verdict: Neither as bad as the bleating fanboys want you to believe nor as good as you'd want another Ghostbusters to be, Paul Feig's female-led reboot delivers up hearty laughs and fun shenanigans even if it's far too long and leans a little too heavily on the series' cherished iconography.

It'll be a genuine shame if a sequel doesn't happen, as there's a good chance it would've been less safe and more keen to venture outside the formulaic box.
