Ranking July 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

12. The First Purge

RottenTomatoes Score: 52% (5.3/10)

Box Office: Produced for a sensibly small $13 million, the fourth Purge movie has crossed the $110 million mark, ensuring the franchise remains in strong financial shape moving forward.

If it continues to crawl along, The First Purge should be able to surpass The Purge: Election Year's $118.5 million total to become the series' highest-grossing entry.

Verdict: The first of the Purge films to undeniably hint at the series' creative bankruptcy, The First Purge boasts a few solid performances and some inspired moments, but it's most undone by over-familiar plotting, badly-directed action sequences and some outrageously low production values.
