Ranking July 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

13. Skyscraper

Skyscraper Dwayne Johnson
Universal

RottenTomatoes Score: 48% (5.2/10)

Box Office: Dwayne Johnson's $130 million Die Hard knock-off has made roughly $225 million to date, with almost $50 million of that figure coming from China alone.

Certainly not the Rampage-sized success Universal was hoping for, but not a total dud either. It'll be interesting to see whether or not Skyscraper is an early indicator of perceived "Dwayne Johnson fatigue", though.

Verdict: It's...fine? The screenplay is boilerplate and the visual effects are all over the place, but Johnson gives another entertaining performance, and it delivers the basic action thrills you'd surely expect.

More than anything, Skyscraper is a film that doesn't engender anything approaching strong feelings either way: it's serviceable and that's about it. Nothing to see here, really.
