Ranking July 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

9. Uncle Drew

Uncle Drew
Lionsgate

RottenTomatoes Score: 65% (6.0/10)

Box Office: Made for $18 million, the loony basketball comedy has grossed a solid $43 million to date. Not bad for a movie adapted from a Pepsi commercial, really.

Verdict: A good deal better than any film with origins this cynical ever should be, Uncle Drew makes the most of its "NBA stars in old-man makeup" gimmick thanks to a surprisingly earnest, heartfelt tone and unexpectedly solid performances from its sports star cast.

It's got Shaq breakdancing, for God's sake, which is probably worth the price of admission alone. It's no Citizen Kane, but it's got some decent laughs whether you're a basketball nut or not.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
