Ranking June 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best
1. De Palma
RottenTomatoes Score: 96% (8.2/10)
Box Office: The doc has scored just north of $100,000 on 21 screens, and though films of this sort are typically pretty inexpensive, it's hard to imagine anyone making money off of it.
Verdict: Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow's documentary about the legendary Scarface director is an extremely informative and entertaining travelogue of his career and life, putting equal paid to the highs and lows and as such carving out an uncommonly honest and insightful look at the filmmaking process.
Sure, if you're a fan of the director you may know all of this already, but having De Palma on hand to analyse himself so candidly makes this essential viewing for just about any film buff. Terrific.
