Ranking June 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

5. The Happy Prince

The Happy Prince Rupert Everett
Sony Pictures Classics

RottenTomatoes Score: 74% (6.8/10)

Box Office: Produced for roughly $12 million, the Oscar Wilde biopic hasn't even cracked $1 million at the international limited box office. Even factoring in home video sales and a planned U.S. release later in the year, this one's basically D.O.A.

Verdict: Rupert Everett shines as writer, director and star in this evident passion project, delivering by far his most memorable and effervescent performance in years as Wilde, and serving up a sumptuous directorial debut in the process.

It can be a little on the slow side and it's hardly essential viewing, but for those interested in Wilde's final days, Everett delivers insight aplenty.
