Ranking March 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

2. A Fantastic Woman

A Fantastic Woman
Sony Pictures Classics

RottenTomatoes Score: 94% (8.2/10)

Box Office: Oscar hype sadly didn't do much to boost the Spanish drama's theatrical take, pulling in just over $3 million worldwide. VOD sales will help, but it'll probably cover its budget and not much else.

Verdict: The well-deserved winner of this year's Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, A Fantastic Woman is a heartbreakingly empathetic film about a young trans woman (Daniela Vega) suffering through the death of her partner, and dealing with the avalanche of prejudice that follows.

Vega is astounding as the lead - and should've received a Best Actress nomination for her work - while Sebastián Lelio's compassionate writing and direction ensure the film never loses sight of the humanity at its core. A classic.
