Ranking May 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

14. Hot Pursuit

RottenTomatoes Score: 7% (3.1/10) Box Office: After three weeks on release, Hot Pursuit has still failed to make its relatively modest $35 million price tag back, scoring just $31.4 million. By the end of this weekend, though, it'll probably be pushed just barely over the top. The Verdict: This Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara-starring buddy caper (which was formerly known as You Don't Mess with Texas) looked horrible from the first trailer that was released, and unsurprisingly, the results are lowest-common denominator "entertainment" through and through. The characters are cardboard, the gags are lazy and predictable, the plot is basically a rehash of 2010's almost equally terrible The Bounty Hunter, and overall it really feels like it would've benefited from an R-rating. At least it's only about 80 minutes long by the time the credits roll, but even so, it's exactly the sort of tepid work that deserves to bomb. A paycheck role for all involved, then.
