Ranking May 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best
17. Alice Through The Looking Glass
RottenTomatoes Score: 30% (4.5/10)
Box Office: Alice has been a major disappointment so far, grossing just $27 million in its opening weekend compared to the original's $116 million. While it will unquestionably make its $170 million budget back overall, it's still a colossal failure considering the first movie's $1.025 billion gross.
Verdict: If not nearly as terrible as the advertising suggested, this is still about as pointless as blockbuster sequels get, rustled up from the bare bones of Lewis Carroll's texts and resulting in a visually dazzling but otherwise soulless effort.
Sacha Baron Cohen gives it his all as Time, but the majority of the cast are just phoning it in for an easy paycheck, and it depressingly shows. Still, at least its catastrophic box office so far pretty much ensure there won't be a third.
