RottenTomatoes Score: 27% (4.6/10) Box Office: Despite the fairly small $10 million price tag, By the Sea has made slightly less than $1 million after two weeks at the box office. This one's dead on arrival. Verdict: This one stank of a fetid, sub-Richard Linklater vanity project the second it was announced, and unsurprisingly, the Angelina Jolie-written, produced and directed effort is a visually pleasant but otherwise dull outing. It might boast some surface appeal to "Brangelina" obsessives, but honestly, ask yourself if you really want to put yourself through a 122-minute, monotonous relationship drama that fails to capitalise on its promise at almost every turn.
