Ranking November 2015’s Movies From Worst To Best

14. Secret In Their Eyes

RottenTomatoes Score: 40% (5.6/10) Box Office: Though it was impressively budgeted at just $19.5 million despite featuring an all-star cast, the ensemble thriller bombed, falling slightly short of projections and still sitting a few million short of making its budget back. This one can certainly be blamed on poor marketing, because the film had virtually no presence with audiences, and even those familiar with the original seemed largely unaware the remake was released. Verdict: It's hard to see this film as anything more than a pointless remake of the classic 2009 Oscar-winning Argentine thriller of the same name, because while well cast, it does nothing up to the previous film's standard, and whether you've seen the original or not, is just incredibly, soul-drainingly boring. When the 2009 film was made with such technical precision and rich historical context, why even bother remaking it? This is an ersatz knock-off that wastes a litany of terrific performers.
