Ranking November 2017's Movies From Worst To Best
7. Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool

RottenTomatoes Score: 95% (7.4/10)
Box Office: Budgetary information isn't available, but the drama clearly didn't cost much. Still, it's only made around $800,000 on limited international release, so it'll be hoping to make most of its money from home video sales.
Verdict: Annette Bening completely gives a towering performance as Hollywood actress Gloria Grahame, so great in fact that it papers over a lot of the movie's more sentimental, crowd-pleasing elements.
Jamie Bell is also terrific here as the young man who falls for her, and though it's a biopic that never digs deep enough below the surface, Bening's volcanic work makes it a fun, affecting treat all the same.
It might be too quaint for some tastes, but it rare examination of two disparate worlds colliding, Hollywood and Liverpool, is diverting enough to make this memorable.
