2. They Shall Not Grow Old

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 98% (8.8/10)

Box Office: Peter Jackson's universally acclaimed World War I documentary has grossed $1.3 million to date, though given the fact it's already aired on British TV, one suspects money isn't so much a concern as the sheer nobility of the restoration project.

Verdict: Though Jackson's documentary isn't entirely free of criticisms for effectively being Remastered Propaganda, the restoration is itself a mostly stunning success, save for a few moments where the CGI elements and re-dubbed dialogue are overly obvious.

The voiceover narration - recorded by modern actors - is meanwhile startlingly authentic, to say nothing of the enticing period footage which certainly doesn't shy away from the abject terror of war.
