Ranking September 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best

1. The Beatles: Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years

1201733

RottenTomatoes Score: 96% (7.8/10)

Box Office: Though the budget hasn't been disclosed, the doc has already grossed $5.6 million, ensuring it's an easy success given the low overheads involved with this type of film.

Verdict: While director Ron Howard only scratches the surface as far as Beatlemania goes and most of the revelations within won't be too surprising to the band's most devoted fans, this is nevertheless a sharply-produced and edited doc that steers clear of hero worship as it serves up a ton of entertaining archive footage.

The fact that it covers a relatively short span of The Beatles' tenure may leave the audience wanting more, but it also allows Howard to get down in the trenches with the quartet during their touring years, giving this doc an uncommonly intimate quality.
