Ranking September 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

7. The Land Of Steady Habits

The Land Of Steady Habits Ben Mendelsohn Edie Falco
Netflix

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 79% (7.2/10)

Box Office: Straight-to-Netflix.

Verdict: Ben Mendelsohn really needs more starring roles, as further exemplified by the latest film from Nicole Holofcener (Enough Said).

Though this is a quintessential "wealthy white people problems" movie, Mendelsohn's prickly protagonist is just intriguing enough to overcome, aided by solid support from Edie Falco and Thomas Mann.

As a Netflix acquisition it's perfect, really. Watch it in bed on your laptop on a Sunday morning when you don't want to move and don't want to watch anything too tough or intellectually demanding. Entertaining and insightful, but not among the director's best work.
