Ranking The Best Movie In Every Major Comic Book Franchise

21. Kick-Ass

Batman Blade Wonder Woman
Universal

Everything that Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass got right, the sequel seemed to get wrong, which is impressive when the franchise only comprised of two movies.

The first instalment was lewd, crude, tongue-in-cheek and shockingly violent, but it was all handled with a sense of self-awareness and genuine appreciation of the material that elevated it above simply being an R-rated twist on the standard superhero origin story.

Kick-Ass 2 operated under the assumption that rehashing the things that made the first movie so popular would simply work again, and seemed to exist only as a means to keep the franchise alive for a little while longer.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
