Ranking The Best Movie In Every Major Comic Book Franchise
20. Blade II
Blade is often pinpointed as the movie that revived interest in the superhero genre after Batman & Robin almost killed it completely, and while Stephen Norrington's super-stylish adaptation deserves its place in history, Guillermo Del Toro's sequel is still much better.
The filmmaker's love for body horror is on full display in the follow-up, expanding and deepening the vampire mythology while also giving Wesley Snipes a whole new breed of bad guys to slice and dice his way through in effortlessly cool fashion. Sure, some of the visual effects look horrendous when viewed through a modern lens, but Blade II was never designed to be high art.
As an aesthetic and action-orientated exercise it ticks all of the boxes, and even the movie's worst moments are ten times better than anything that happened in the dismal Blade: Trinity.
