Ranking The Best Movie In Every Major Comic Book Franchise

12. Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Batman Blade Wonder Woman
Universal Pictures

Guillermo Del Toro's abandoned Hellboy III is always going to be a source of huge frustration for fans, especially when the reboot we ended up with turned out to be almost incomprehensibly awful.

The Hellboy franchise didn't cost as much as many other comic book franchises and didn't earn anywhere near as much at the box office, and the studio ultimately decided that the risk wasn't worth the reward when it came to giving Del Toro the opportunity to bring his planned trilogy to a close.

Expanding on the first movie's impressive world-building, The Golden Army improved upon its predecessor in almost every way from the performances, production design and visual effects to the action scenes and fantasy elements, even throwing in an old-fashioned drunken karaoke session for good measure.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
