Ranking The Best Movie In Every Major Comic Book Franchise

11. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Batman Blade Wonder Woman
Marvel Studios

The First Avenger was a solid old-fashioned adventure movie, but it was the Russo brothers' MCU debut that unlocked Captain America's cinematic potential as both the heart and soul of the entire franchise, as well as the star of a frequently jaw-dropping action movie.

Civil War might provide more bang for your buck by throwing in the vast majority of the Avengers, but The Winter Soldier boasts several of the MCU's greatest-ever set-pieces in the space of one movie, as well as advancing the story arcs of multiple characters while also introducing several more.

That's a lot of moving pieces to handle, and the shift to the modern day greatly expands the scope and scale of the star-spangled superhero's second outing, but the Russos managed to hold everything together despite their relative inexperience and delivered Captain America's best solo movie in the process.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
