Ranking The Best Movie In Every Major Comic Book Franchise

28. Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer

Batman Blade Wonder Woman
20th Century Fox

Following the genre's explosion in popularity at the turn of the millennium, you couldn't get within 100 feet of a cinema without bumping in to at least one comic book adaptation, and looking back at what wasn't exactly the glory days for superheroes on the big screen, Tim Story's Fantastic Four is about as mid-2000s as it gets.

There's very little to recommend about either entry in the series, but Rise of the Silver Surfer just about edges it based almost solely on the title character, no matter if the studio made the bold and ultimately bad decision to depict the all-powerful Galactus as a space fart.

Both movies were pitched at such a young demographic that older fans simply had no interest, and the kid-centric Fantastic Four were swiftly and correctly consigned to the history books after a double helping of lukewarm box office and underwhelming reviews.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
