Ranking: The Biggest Protagonists From 2016's Summer Blockbusters
10. Bob Stone (Dwayne Johnson) & Calvin Joiner (Kevin Hart) - Central Intelligence
The Roles: Johnson plays an overweight high school loser who becomes a bada** CIA agent in adulthood, while Hart is the high school champ who has since become a boring, dissatisfied accountant.
First things first: seeing The Rock's face digitally superimposed over a fat teenager singing in the shower is never not going to be funny.
Though Central Intelligence is a fairly mediocre production insofar as its generic plot and forgettable script are concerned, the sheer charisma and personality tidal wave that is Johnson and Hart combines to make them easily likeable action heroes.
The film could and should have been better on the whole, but these endearing characters have a winning combination of goofiness, heart and bada**ery (more Johnson than Hart in the latter case).
There's already been fervent talk of a sequel, which will hopefully build further on the duo's terrific chemistry (and a more imaginative plot would be nice too).
