Ranking: The Biggest Protagonists From 2016's Summer Blockbusters

11. Mowgli (Neel Sethi) - The Jungle Book

The Role: The young man-cub who is raised by wolves before leaving the pack and teaming up with kindly sloth bear Baloo (Bill Murray).

This isn't so much a knock against Neel Sethi as it is the fact that Mowgli is by far the least interesting thing in The Jungle Book.

He shouldn't feel bad, though, considering that a host of beautifully-rendered CGI animals played by Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson and more would steal the show from just about anyone.

As a result, Sethi does what he has to in order to make Mowgli work, but he takes a backseat to what's going on around him so often that he's basically just "there", which is fine, even if it doesn't exactly make him a sterling protagonist.
