The newly-minted Marvel Cinematic Universe Peter Parker deserves major credit for actually looking and acting like a kid, with actor Tom Holland in his early twenties and the character being written as an awkward goofball in this new origin story.

Thanks to the movie's John Hughes-inspired tone and more streamlined antagonist (far away from the overstuffed shenanigans of prior Spider-Man movies), Homecoming is a safe but highly entertaining vehicle for the latest iteration of the superhero, ensuring that he feels the closest to the comics' original vision, while also updating him for the modern day.

Holland is absolutely fantastic in the role, and it doesn't hurt that he's surrounded by such a marvelous cast, while Parker learns some hard lessons about what it means to be a superhero. This was just the treat Spidey fans everywhere have been long-deserving of.
