Though far from a critical hit upon release, it's hard to argue with the sheer terror that can be found in Paul Anderson's gruesome sci-fi horror Event Horizon.

The story of a group of astronauts who come into contact with a deadly force near Neptune, Event Horizon is far from subtle, but what it lacks in grace in more than makes up for in a relentless energy that makes all of its twists horribly disturbing.

Gory and sinister, Event Horizon is nothing if not a burst of pure, unadulterated space horror, and the results are tough to forget.
