Ratner & Bousman to enjoy MOTHER'S DAY
1980's Grindhouse-esque slasher flick to be remade.
Brett Ratner is producing a remake of the 1980's Grindhouse-esque horror film Mother's Day for the big screen with Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw III, IV) in early talks to direct. P2 writer Franck Khalfoun is scribing the remake. The original, almost exploitational movie featured three women who get together for a ten year college reunion in the woods but soon become victims of slaughter from two boys and their mother who abduct, and kill anyone they find in the woods.
It's said that Ratner is a huge fan of the original film.
Shock Till You Drop also claim that Bousman is no longer involved in a Scanners remake, which is good news. Bousman's next film Repo: The Genetic Opera opens November 7th in the U.S.
