Razzies 2018: 7 Winners That Make No Sense

2. Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off Or Sequel - Fifty Shades Darker

Fifty Shades Darker
Universal Pictures

Look, Fifty Shades Darker is a bad movie. A really, really bad movie, even. But it's also entertainingly bad and really just coasts on the success of the previous film: nobody went into it expecting a decent follow-up, and it duly delivered on expectations. It wasn't decidedly worse than anyone was hoping for.

What Should've Won: Transformers: The Last Knight was too weird and insane to win, so that's out immediately. We're down to Baywatch, Boo 2! A Madea Halloween and The Mummy.

As bad as all three of these films were, Boo 2, with its mere 6% Tomatometer score, is by far the worst-received of the movies, and doesn't really offer up much in the "so bad it's good" stakes either. At least Baywatch and The Mummy have fitful moments that work, but Boo 2 is a genuinely painful experience from beginning to end.
