The power-mad CEO of IOI, who starts off as a bureaucratic type that doesn't fully understand how to play in the OASIS, but wants to take control of it nonetheless.

He's a brilliant foil for the heroes, and Mendelsohn is clearly having a great time as the central villain. We get shades of Krennic, but as the movie goes on her becomes a much larger than life characters (quite literally in the OASIS) and a genuine threat in what becomes a race against time and then an epic battle.

Crucially, however, he also gets a key bit of backstory that helps flesh him out and better explain his actions, and Mendelsohn nicely sells the scorn the character feels and balances it with being equal parts charming and nefarious.
