20 Recent Movies That Were Sent Out To Die
6. Psycho Killer
It's rarely a good sign when a film spends years and years in development hell before finally coming out, and even though horror film Psycho Killer was penned by Se7en writer Andrew Kevin Walker, it took almost a full 20 years to get made.
Way back in 2009 Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst was even attached to direct it, but after many years of stalled starts, it was finally helmed by Gavin Polone in his feature debut.
Shooting wrapped in April 2023 on a budget of roughly $10 million - barely half the $17 million originally raised for it in 2010, which itself isn't a great sign.
The fact that it spent almost three years on the shelf before releasing this past February is far worse, which combined with 20th Century Studios' decision to barely market the movie made its atrocious reviews and dire box office performance not remotely surprising.
It was painfully clear that nobody had any interest except doing the bare minimum to kick this one out the door and be done with it.
