Red Notice Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

1. It COULD Be The Start Of A Hit Franchise

It goes without saying that Netflix is positioning Red Notice as their hot new IP, hopeful that it will kickstart a mammoth franchise in the way that prior blockbuster Originals like Bright and 6 Underground failed to.

As uneven as this film is, it's clear that the ingredients are mostly there for a massively successful streaming enterprise, especially if Thurber brings a co-write onboard next time.

The film's ending unsurprisingly sets up future adventures, and with the likelihood that the film will pull in some of Netflix's biggest ever streaming figures, they're surely going to be eager to get a sequel off the ground.

As ultimately unambitious as Red Notice is, it is nevertheless a film with plenty of promise for future installments, that the sequel could build on these familiar foundations with something a little more out-there. Fingers crossed, anyway.
