1. Shohreh Aghdashloo Is Totally Wasted

Hands up if you had no idea the great Shohreh Aghdashloo was even in this movie. But indeed, she has a significant supporting role as Bellafrancesca "Ella" Lobo, the mother of Schwartz's Teddy and the head of the Lobo Crime Family.

Hiring Aghdashloo to play a badass crime boss is A+ casting for sure, so it's a shame she's given incredibly little of worth to do here except occasionally exposit and stand around as the Big Bad who eventually works with Dracula.

Aghdashloo is such an expressive, badass actress - with an all-timer voice to boot - that to confine her to such a forgettable nothingburger of a role just feels like a huge disservice. She does everything she can with it, of course, but that's not really saying much.

If you can accept these issues, however, there is fun to be had with Renfield. And so, here's what it gets right...
