4. Kaya Scodelario's Claire Redfield Steals The Show

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Claire
Sony Pictures Releasing

It won't surprise anyone familiar with Kaya Scodelario that she ends up giving the best performance in the film as Claire Redfield.

Scodelario, a talented actress who made a name for herself in Brit TV series Skins, the Maze Runner films, as the best part of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and in the recent horror film Crawl, basically captures the essence of Claire.

She's really the only performer in the film who truly manages to transcend the awful script, bringing a gravitas to Claire and doing her absolute damnedest to elevate the material.

Scodelario clearly deserves better, but given the likelihood that a sequel won't happen, it's a shame that her solid effort here will likely never get a reprise.
