The Gingerbread Man isn't a great movie, but what did you expect from a film with a title like that? From that title, though, you were probably expecting this to be something akin to a horror flick, but it's actually an adaptation of a Josh Grisham thriller that the author never published (we wonder why). Robert Duvall stars as the mentally-deranged Dixon Doss, whose only purpose is to turn up now and again to shout a bit. The reason this takes the top spot in our sucky performances section, though, stems from the fact that Duvall seems to have forgotten how to act - all the careful touches that we associate with his most famous creations are thrown out of the window for scenes of mindless overreacting. It almost appears as though the actor read that he was supposed to play a "psychotic hillbilly" and opted for a half-assed SNL impression. Like this article? Agree or disagree with our picks?
