Rosamund Pike: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

1. Kate Sumner - Johnny English Reborn

To their credit, the two Johnny English movies to date (and hopefully forever) have attracted a mind-boggling array of talented actors, including John Malkovich, Gillian Anderson, Dominic West and Ms. Pike herself. She plays MI7 behavioural psychologist Kate Sumner, and why this made #1 can be explained in just a few words: the 32-year-old Pike is the 56-year-old's Atkinson's love interest. Yep. Even ickier than the 20-year age gap between Natalie Imbruglia and Atkinson in the first movie, it doesn't really matter that the film is clearly trying to satirise the Roger Moore Bond years (where the aged actor would be matched with women too young for him), the sight of Pike lip-locking Mr. Bean while reviving him just...shouldn't happen. Much like the movie's other talented cast members, little is done with her here, and it's difficult to imagine what could've possessed Pike, who was already on her way to becoming a household name in 2011, to star in something so mouldy and trite. What are your own favourite and least-favourite Pike performances? What did you make of her in Gone Girl? Shout it out in the comments!
